Sleep Deprived Bus Driver

June 14, 2012

A tour bus – which took 15 lives last year was likely caused by a sleep deprived driver and a bus company which provided too little safety oversight, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. The sleep deprived bus driver was speeding up to 78 miles per hour in a 50 miles per hour zone on I 95. The driver worked for World Wide tours of Greater New York.

Last week we wrote about a Crack down by the FMCSA which closed bus companies, many operating out of New York. One of the companies was World Wide tours of Greater New York. As bus and truck accident attorneys we routinely see those who choose to disregard the rules as the cause of big rig crashes. They do not represent the majority of professional drivers who follow the rules. Shut down the dangerous operations.
