Outdoor construction season is starting and you will see plenty of road work this season.
Construction work is dangerous, especially working on roads and highways. Please, give the road workers a brake. Imagine trying to work and having the vehicle buzz you within a few feet at 60 miles an hour or more.
I know and represent many construction workers. They are hard-working men and woman, performing challenging jobs to take care of their families. Let’s keep them safe. Let’s prevent construction site accidents.
In the work zone:
- Drive the posted work-zone limit.
- Stay alert and a attention to signs and flaggers – not a cell phone.
- Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, don’t tailgate.
- Expect the unexpected.
- Be patient.
