You Can Protect Construction Workers

March 14, 2013

Construction work is dangerous, especially working on roads and highways. Please, give the road workers a brake. Imagine trying to work and having the vehicle buzz you within a few feet at 60 miles an hour or more.

I know and represent many construction workers. They are hard-working men and woman, performing challenging jobs to take care of their families. Let’s keep them safe. Let’s prevent construction site accidents.

In the work zone:

  • Drive the posted work-zone limit.
  • Stay alert and a attention to signs and flaggers – not a cell phone.
  • Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, don’t tailgate.
  • Expect the unexpected.
  • Be patient.
