New York State Thruway car carrier fire

December 17, 2010

The New York State Thruway I 90 was re opened Thursday after a car-carrier went up in flames near the Pembroke exit.

As a New York truck accident attorney I’ve handled car carrier cases and truck accidents in the Pembroke area.

Pembroke is the location of a major truck stop near Batavia, in Genessee County, New York. The fire companies and first responders in Genessee County are top notch and did a remarkable job getting through traffic which quickly backed up on the Thruway.

The cab of the rig was engulfed in flames and a number of cars were also destroyed. The fire began about 2:30pm in the westbound lane of the I-90.
