Lack of Safety Standards Contributed to Utah Bus Crash

A recent AAJ article says that the National Transportation Safety Board cited a lack of appropriate federal safety standards and driver fatigue as contributing factors in this deadly crash where nine people died. The AAJ is calling for new regulations directed at improving the safety of passengers on commercial transportation vehicles. Proposed standards would include installation of electronic devices to monitor driver fatigue, seat belts, and stronger vehicle construction. Commercial trucks are also included in this call for more stringent standards.
