GM Recalls 200,000 SUVs

June 17, 2013

GM is recalling 200,000 midsize SUVs due to fire hazards in the driver’s side door. Vehicles in the snow belt states, including upstate New York, are more prone to catch fire. The fires start in in the master power door and window module which can short out and catch fire.

As an attorney representing people, I see truck accidents and car crashes and also defective product cases. There are many cases which occur due to dangerous products. In one crash, several lawyers said a wheel coming off a truck was a fluke. The driver was very badly injured. We were able to show the truck was prone to rust in the Northeast and in upstate New York. And we were able to show the problem had happened many times before, and continued uncorrected. We helped the man and his family keep their home, get a new start and stay off public assistance.

The GM models are 2006 – 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9–7X and Isuzu Ascender. GM will replace the module, it damaged or apply a moisture protection coating if it is not. Be safe.
