Chrysler recalls Jeep Libertys

March 14, 2012

Dealers have yet to be notified, but March 12 the NHTSA announced a recall of many 2004 and 2005 Jeep liberty vehicles registered in the Northeast including New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Connecticut and other states. Rear suspension lower control arms may fracture due to corrosion, causing a crash. You may need Chrysler’s safety recall number which is L27.

Many accidents due to vehicle defects go unreported. Dangerous and excessive corrosion occurs due to the use of improper metal. Usually the manufacturers are not held accountable and often there are no recalls. As attorneys who handle defective products and truck accidents a number of recent recalls bring to mind a case where we successfully represented truck driver badly injured when a wheel fell off of his truck. His employer owned a large fleet and there were multiple prior incidents of wheels falling off a particular model truck. The defect was a corrosion issue occurring across the Northeast. It was never properly addressed until some was badly hurt. Sometimes a lawsuit is needed.
