Feroleto Law Attorneys Stand Up for the 7th Amendment and Truck Accident Victims in Washington, D.C.

October 2, 2025

In May 2025, three attorneys from Feroleto Law—Kate Feroleto, Jill Wnek, and Miriam Trojanovic—traveled to Washington, D.C. to protect a fundamental right that helps keep our roads and communities safe: the right to a jury trial.

Why Jury Trials Matter in Truck Accident Cases

The 7th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to a jury trial in civil cases. For truck crash victims and other injury survivors, this right is often the only way to hold negligent trucking companies accountable.

Every year, families are devastated by preventable truck crashes. These tragedies are often caused by companies that cut corners on safety, push drivers past their limits, or fail tomaintain their vehicles.

When corporations put profits over people, jury trials give ordinary citizens the power to demand accountability. Without this right, injured people would be left to battle million-dollar trucking companies and their insurers alone.

We explained that jury trials aren’tjust about compensation—they are about deterrence. When trucking companies know they’ll be held responsible in court, they have a strong incentive to follow safety rules, train their drivers properly, and properlymaintain their fleets.
