DOT quick strike team shuts down local bus company due to “imminent hazard to the public”

May 3, 2013

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration shut down Niagara Falls, New York bus company, Coach USA Tour, Inc., citing false record-keeping, lack of oversight and imminent danger to the public.

The agency said the company’s drivers and vehicles posted an imminent hazard to public safety.

As a bus accident and truck accident lawyer I have cited the recklessness and unnecessary risks taken by these operators which lead to horrific crashes and harm to the public.

Coach USA Tour operates tour buses in the Northeast. It is a separate corporation not affiliated with Coach USA, Inc., which operates out of Paramus New Jersey.

A “quick strike” team of investigators found serious safety violations amounting to disregard for motor coach passenger safety, according to the DOT. Crashes such as the many we have had due to reckless bus and truck companies can devastate the life of the injured person and their family. This is one reason why people need a personal injury attorney when hurt through no fault of their own.
