I 90 Crash Reminds Us Of Thruway Safety.

September 6, 2013

Yesterday, a young man was struck by a tractor-trailer on I 90 in Cheektowaga closing the eastbound New York Thruway for hours. His car was stopped and he was attempting to cross the highway. It reminds us of the tremendous zone of danger we are in, in the event of a breakdown or stopping on the road.

We have handled many cases where individuals were stopped on the road after crash and hit, or pulled over to the side of the road, parked, when their vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer or car. When he stopped on the Thruway or highway, it is so important to be as far away from the lanes of traffic as possible; it is likely the young man was trying to get safety. If you have any information, or it witnessed the crash called the Buffalo office of the New York State police at 716-935-6570.
