716 Unity Bike Ride

July 21, 2016

716 Unity Bike Ride
Sometimes we roll together – and it is good. Several hundred participated in a bicycle ride for unity Saturday.

Ulysees Wingo and Joel Feroleto wanted to give members of Western New York a way to support community unity. Joel Feroleto represents much of North Buffalo and the West Side, and Ulysees Wingo represents the Masten District as Buffalo Common Council members. They planned a bicycle ride through Buffalo neighborhoods from Niagara Square to MLK Park, to Delaware Park, to Front Park to show unity in Buffalo and Western New York at a time when much division is highlighted in the news.

The bicyclists were escorted by Buffalo police and Slow Roll Buffalo helped organize and participate in the unity ride. Two local businesses, Sinatra and Company Real Estate and Mosey Associates LLP, sponsored the event.

There was much positivity, some bicycle riders pedaled through the neighborhoods they hadn’t seen, with many residents waving and cheering the crowd. Hopefully, we’ll have another unity slow roll in 2017!

Joel Feroleto is also an attorney at Feroleto Law in Buffalo, New York.
