Stop the New York State Thruway Toll Hike!

November 19, 2012

Suddenly canceled meetings, lack of transparency and a 45% toll hike. We don’t need this from the New York State Thruway Authority.

Keep in mind tolls on the New York State Thruway were supposed to be eliminated in 1996 , when the original construction debt for building the highway was paid off. Truckers will be hit hard with the 45% toll hike. The New York State Motor Truck Association is strongly against it.

The Thruway Authority seeks the hike in part to help pay for its operation of the New York State Canal System. The Thruway authority needs to reduce spending and start collecting unpaid E-Z pass fees. The unpaid fees amount to millions of dollars. When first proposed, the increase was addressed at our sister site, yourbuffalolawyer.com.
